How To Select Beaded Lamp Shades

When it comes to selecting beaded lamp shades, there are several factors that need to be considered. Beauty isn't the only thing to take into account when choosing a lamp shade. You may already have preconceived ideas about the appropriate shape, size, material, and color for your beaded lamp shade. However, these additional tips may help in your decision. When shopping for beaded lamp shades there are three simple points that you should keep in mind: portrayal style, shade size, and shade vertical location.

- Portrayal Style: The very first thing you are going to want to do is decide what it is you wish to portray with the lamp. You should look at your lamp and determine what style it is, whether it is traditional, contemporary, antique, or funky. In a situation where you can't really discern a certain style, then you are going to have to decide what the look or style is that you would like to portray with this lamp. Your main goal should be to have the basic style or look of your beaded lamp shade compliment and not clash with the style of the lamp itself.

- Shade Size: The characteristics of the beaded lamp shade are going to be subjective and they are going to vary according to the observer. However, there are a couple of guidelines that will allow you to determine the boundaries that you should consider. Basically, you are searching for a balance between the lamp and the lamp shade size.

- Shade Vertical Location: This is one characteristic of your beaded lamp shade that is going to be fairly simple to judge. You basically want to consider where the bottom edge of the lamp shade will be located.

Shorter beaded lamp shades are going to require shorter harps and longer lamp shades will need longer harps. Multiple socket lamps should be a special consideration and you may want to get some professional guidance to discuss all of these details, specifically to address all of the safety concerns as well as the aesthetic values of the lamp shades you are considering.

You can use all of the ideas above as general guidelines and they should be able to get you started off in the right direction. For any further assistance, you may want to consider visiting a lighting showroom or reputable lamp store. A specialized lamp store or showroom is more likely to have experienced, knowledgeable staff that is well equipped to help you with all of those subtle intricacies involved in selecting a beaded lamp shade. Make sure that you always ask the sales representative to help you in any way possible to ensure you will choose the perfect beaded lamp shade for your environment.
